Endoscopic facelift: an end to long incisions

A classic facelift needs a suture running from the hairline to the ear. The endoscopic method — rejuvenation through a 4-5 cm incision with a camera, without visible marks.

The endoscopic facelift has become the standard in European and Turkish clinics over the past 5 years. It is technically more complex, but for the patient it is dramatically better.

How does it work?

1. The surgeon makes 5-7 mini incisions in the hairline 2. The endoscope camera enters through one incision, the instrument through another 3. The skin and muscles of the face are seen on the camera and lifted again 4. They are fixed in the new position with screws or threads 5. The mini incisions are sutured

The ideal candidate

• 35-55 years old
• Good skin elasticity (skin that has not lost it entirely yet)
• Wants a natural result rather than a "marble statue" look
• Preserving the hairline matters (women, for instance, do not want to see marks when they tie their hair back)

Drawbacks

• If the skin has sagged a great deal, the classic method suits better
• It demands serious expertise from the surgeon
• It is expensive (30-40% more than the classic)
